We literally landed in Singapore on New Years Eve at 4pm and had to be ready for 630pm for a bat trip. We originally were booked in at the Fuarma City Center Hotel but upon arrival the room was supposed to be a deluxe room but it was appalling, tiny, no natural light, dirty and smelly. We complained, got told the hotel was full and got offered another room on the 6th floor but the whole carpet on the landing was filthy and the room doors looked like gangbangers flats in some drug den. Suffice to say, the room was disappointing was an understatement. It stank of must and the carpet was stained. The bathroom was tired and mould was around the grout of the sink edges. This was not a deluxe room by anyones imagination. So we spoke with the manager and the tour operator and were disgusted with what was supposed to be the start of a trip of alifetime and checked out. So I quickly looked on Booking.com and because I had previously seen the reviews of the Hotel Telegraph I made a reservation there. We jumped in a cab and were wowed from the minute we checked in. The lobby was glistening and decorated for Xmas and looked incredible and very welcoming. Anastasia on reception was delightful and provided us with a great room. We quickly got ready and had a fabulous new years eve. We didn't eat at the hotel, just had coffees and relaxed at the amazing roof top pool bar area which is stunning. The location of the hotel is perfect as directly opposite is La Pah Set food markets which in the evening turned into a street food frenzy of amazing satay stalls serving delicious food. Yes we paid over £1000 for four nights but considering the time of year and the speed of booking and brilliant accommodation, it was money well spent. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

Perfect location across street from an historic hawker market so great food options always available. Hotel is lovely older building (only 5 stories) beautifully updated with excellent restaurant (Cygnet). We had one dinner there and it was fabulous! Also enjoyed cocktail in roof bar by pool. Easy access to several MRT stations including Raffles Square. We think it was the perfect hotel to enjoy Singapore. Quiet floors and rooms with luxurious linens and super walk in shower. Attentive staff. It’s an historic property nestled among downtown high rises and has great street appeal too. We spent four nights there.

Excellent location next to Lau Pat hawker centre. Also close to a few PT lines so easy to get around. Also way walk to Chinatown . Seems to be recently refurbished building. Great interior design, room was well appointed and a good size. Unfortunately the pool and roof bar were closed for works. We had room facing internally to the atrium,so no view. Our friends room faced outside but not much to see either as mostly DT high rises. Happy hour drinks at the bar were good. We didn't eat in then hotel as we were keen to try the local hawker centres

breakfast not included, but plenty of places around to grab some food or bagel and coffee and take back to eat at the roof top pool. literally right opposite the hawkes food market - Lau pa Sat and open till at last 3am, great to stop by on the way back to the hotel for some food. Bar in room was refilled daily with water, juices and snacks. Location was key, 5 min walk to metro, 10 min to China town, and 10 min walk to the marina bay.

Simone

Great location and accommodations. Most tourist attractions are within short walking distance from the hotel. Probably the furthest (about a 25 minute walk) are easily reached by taxi (about $6 USD) or MRT. An excellent food market is right across the street and every night it’s Satay night right in front of the hotel.
